With private information of over half the population already leaked, it’s evident that cybersecurity capabilities must mature.

The primary responsibility of a CISO is to bridge the gap between technical experts and business stakeholders. While technical professionals implement policies and rules, the direction should come from the business level. Ultimately, the goal of cybersecurity is to reduce business risks and enable the successful delivery of products or services.

It is essential to demonstrate the value that cybersecurity brings to the organisation and the risks it mitigates. Therefore, the best-suited role for this purpose is that of a CISO (Chief Information Security Officer).
